Burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a unique manner. Burl is commonly found in the form of a rounded outgrowth on a tree trunk or branch that is filled with small knots from dormant buds. Keep in mind that grain patterns will vary from piece to piece adding to the uniqueness of the item. No two pieces will look the same because of this!
